Gratitude

If you believe in law of attraction then you know that you'll be able to successfully manifest things in your life if your vibration matches the vibration of the thing you want to attract. Positive feelings, like love and joy, are vibrating faster, therefore they are higher energies. On the opposite, the negative emotions, like anger, hate and jealousy are slow and heavy. That is why sometimes we feel 'low on energy', or we could 'cut the athmosphere in a room with a knife' because how heavy it feels. So, in other words, if you are sad and angry, you will not attract happiness to your life because they are on the opposite sides of the spectrum. You will just attract more... sadness and anger.

How come it doesn't work like a magnet? Opposite attracts, right? The universe works on the principle of the least effort. And everything in the universe is vibrating energy. It is easier for the same energies to resonate together. They attract each other, and become stronger.

So, the questions is... How can you rise your energy?

The simplest method to rise your vibrations is to feel gratitude. You might have heard about the exercise when each day you're supposed to say 10 things you are grateful for. I know that sometimes it is easier said than done. How can you feel gratitude if nothing in your life is going right, or maybe even is falling apart?

I encourage you to do this exercise, without stressing about the number of items to list. Start small. You don't need big things to be grateful for. Think of a nice, good thing that happened to you that day. Was it a nice, sunny day? Did you like that? Thank for that. Did you eat something tasty, and delicious? Thank for that! Did you talk to a good friend? Maybe it was a 'nothing special' conversation but thank for having a good friend to have non special conversations with. Did you drive? Your car may not be the best car in the world, but still, it is better to have this car, than no car at all. Don't think about how not perfect your car is, but be grateful you have something to drive your bum around.

Maybe at the beginning it will be just few things. Maybe it will feel like you are pushing and forcing yourself but I'm sure, with time, you will be listing more, and more, and it will be easier too. You may catch yourself during the day saying: 'oh, this is nice, I will have to put that on my list later!'. You may even feel excited, and can't wait to be able to write it down. This exercise is all about training your brain to start noticing good things, and getting used to the feeling of gratitude. You will find more things to be grateful for. Not only from that day! Events, experiences, people from your past. You may even reach a point when you will be grateful for something negative in your life because it led to something amazing. And now, from perspective of time, you are realizing that actually 'thank God it happened'.

At the beginning it may be just empty words; 'Thank you for...'. But the feeling of gratitude will follow. I remember few times I was laying in my bed and listing the things I was grateful for. I was just listing them but I didn't really feel grateful or happy. But the more things I listed, the gratitude slowly started to arise. The more things I listed, the more grateful I felt. I had so many things to be grateful for, that it seemed there was no ending! I had tears in my eyes, and this wonderful, warm feeling in my heart. Those weren't tears of sadness. Exactly the opposite. Those were tears of joy. I couldn't believe how lucky I was! Maybe the true happiness and joy is hidden in small, simple things. And we just have to learn to notice them.
