Confidence and Success
Affirmation is a positive statement that you say to yourself to reprogram your subconscious. To understand why affirmations work, you should know 3 things about your mind:
1. Mind learns through repetition. Every time you do something new there is a sequence of neurons that fire up. When you repeat the action, the same sequence fires up again, and again. Like a footpath through the jungle. First time you walk it, you have to cut your way through. When you walk the path regularly it becomes more and more worn. Evolution has designed your body to be as energy sufficient as possible. Taking the well-worn route takes less energy that firing new neurons. So mind makes this route solid and strong, so it is easy to walk. Like learning a new language, or a dance routine. You have to repeat it few times before it becomes natural.
2. Mind believes everything that you say. If someone tells you a compliment, your mind understands that this person may have an agenda, so may not believe it. But when you say it, there is no reason for you to lie to yourself, so everything goes in. When you say something, and especially when you repeat something over and over, it must be true.
3. Mind uses your thoughts and words as a blueprint of reality. If you are consistent with your words, mind has no choice but to change the reality.
Listen to this recording as often as you can. Every day, or a couple of times a week, for at least few weeks. There is a moment of silence between each statement so you can repeat it out loud or in your mind. You can listen to it as a meditation with full, undivided attention, or as a background when you are doing something else. I listen to mine on a walk, when I am in a queue, on a bus, going to a gym, etc. Be consistent. Listen to this recording often to start noticing positive changes in your life. This recording is very general so most people can relate.
